October 2019 Newsletter
We are off to a great start!
What a great start to the new school year. The children are settling in and making new friends. Thank you very much to the parents for facilitating the Drop Off/Pick Up line with excellent efficiency! Please make sure if there is a line in the church parking lot to turn onto Mann Lot Road and queue from the parking lot across the street. It is imperative that we keep Country Way clear for buses and traffic. We are thrilled it went so smoothly the first week! Lunch Bunch has begun! Call Judy or Suzanne to check availability. If you are interested in a yearly or monthly spot, please let us know. Space is limited. Please no “drop-ins”.

Docent Art for Pre K Classes
- Wednesday, October 16th
Mrs. Adams, our “Art Aficionado” will be providing the Pre K classes with an age appropriate monthly Docent Art experience. Each month a different artist will be introduced beginning with Claude Monet, the “Father of Impressionism”. Mrs. Adams will teach the children how to study light and how it affects nature. The children will then create their own masterpieces with what they learn.
Owl’s Café will be open on Thursday, October 17th and Friday, October 18th! Owl’s Café is an opportunity each month to use our imaginations and participate in an interactive café experience. Every child will have a turn at greeting, serving, cleaning, order taking, and eating at the café with their pals. It’s a lot of fun and the children enjoy all of the roles that they get to play. Plus we have fun special snacks at the café!
Pre K “Lively Letters”
“Lively Letters” is a fun, interactive program within Reading with TLC, a research-based, clinically proven method that provides opportunities to understand phonemic awareness through play based materials. Pre K classes have begun introducing new letter sounds with the letters P and B. We will continue this month with the sounds of T, D, F, V, K and G.

Our Halloween Workshop is the first of many workshops we will be hosting throughout the year. If your child is in an afternoon program, they can stay until 6:00pm. If they are a morning student or not in school that day, you may drop them off at 3:30pm for a fun-filled afternoon of ghostly fun, a spooky scavenger hunt, crafts, songs, stories and a pizza dinner!
